Joining a club
Accept an invitation and connect your account to a sailing club.
You join a club on Zeil by accepting an invitation from one of its administrators. You don't sign up for a club on your own — an admin adds your email, and you confirm.
Accepting an invitation
Open the invite
Your club admin sends an invitation to your email. It contains a link to join. Open it on any device.
If you're not already signed in, Zeil asks you to sign in first (see Signing in). Use the same email the invitation was sent to.
Confirm and join
Accept the invitation. Your account is now linked to the club with the role the admin chose for you — usually member.
Use the invited email
The invitation is tied to the email address it was sent to. Sign in with that same address so Zeil can match you to the invite. If you use a different address, the invite won't apply to it.
What happens after you join
Once you've joined, you land on your club's home page. From there you can:
- Browse the fleet and see what's available.
- Book a sail.
- See your certifications and skipper status — these are granted by your club admin.
- Read announcements.
Invitation states
An invitation can be in one of a few states:
| State | What it means |
|---|---|
| Pending | The invite has been sent but not yet accepted. |
| Accepted | You've joined — you're now a member. |
| Expired / revoked | The invite is no longer valid. Ask your admin to resend it. |
I didn't get an invitation
If you expected to join a club but never received an invite, ask a club administrator to send (or resend) one to the right email address. Admins manage invitations from the club's member-management screen — see Members & roles if you're the admin.
