Choose which emails Zeil sends you.
Zeil emails you about the things that matter — and you decide which of those you want. Manage this under Profile → Preferences.
Always sent
A few emails aren't optional, because you'd be lost without them:
- Sign-in links — sent when you request one (this is how you log in). To protect against abuse, requesting many links in quick succession is limited — see Signing in.
- Sail confirmations and cancellations — when a sail you're on is confirmed
or cancelled (a cancellation tells you why). The confirmation comes with a
calendar file (
.ics) attached, so you can add the sail to your calendar straight from your inbox. - Skipper assignments — when a club admin puts you at the helm of a sail. (If a sail you were skippering is reassigned to someone else, you get an in-app notification instead.)
- Course registration — an instant confirmation when you register or request a place on a course, and the club's decision on a request.
- Account notices — if your membership is suspended or reactivated, and a final warning before a scheduled account deletion becomes permanent.
You'll also hear when a guest you invited signs their waiver and confirms their spot on your sail.
Email categories you control
Everything else is a category you can switch on or off under Profile → Preferences. You're opted in by default — turn off what you don't want.

| Crew chat messages | New messages in your sails' crew chats — throttled to at most one email per sail every 15 minutes. You can also mute a single sail's thread from its chat. |

The daily digest
Non-urgent updates — new courses, course materials and roster activity, post-sail follow-ups, and new badges — are rolled into a single daily digest email instead of arriving one by one. Time-sensitive email (sign-in links, reservation changes, reminders, session cancellations) still arrives right away, and everything always appears in the in-app notification bell immediately.
Changing your preferences
Open Profile → Preferences and toggle the categories you want. Changes take effect right away. You can opt back in at any time.
Sign-in emails can't be turned off
Because Zeil is passwordless, the one-time sign-in link is essential to logging in — it isn't part of the optional preferences.
